China launched a new communication technology test satellite from the Wenchang Space Launch Site in south China’s Hainan Province on Thursday.
A Long March-5 rocket carrying the satellite blasted off at 10:30 p.m., and the satellite has successfully entered its preset orbit.
It will primarily be used to carry out multi-band, high-speed communication technology validation tests.
This Long March-5 rocket used a 5.2-meter-diameter, 18.5-meter-long fairing, which can further enhance the rocket’s ability to perform diversified tasks.
The launch marks the 602nd flight mission of the Long March carrier rocket series.
