The Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC) has announced the results of the Central Superior Services (CSS) 2025 examination, revealing a steep competition with only 397 candidates passing the written test out of 15,602 participants.
The results highlight the tough nature of Pakistan’s premier civil service exam, which serves as the gateway to the country’s most prestigious administrative and police positions.

Punjab leads with highest number of successful candidates
According to FPSC data, the highest number of successful candidates — 269 — belonged to Punjab, maintaining the province’s consistent lead in CSS performance over the years.
From other regions, 33 candidates from Sindh Rural and 19 from Sindh Urban cleared the written exam. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa saw 31 successful candidates, while Balochistan had 22 qualifiers.
Meanwhile, two candidates from Gilgit-Baltistan managed to pass the written portion, while no candidate from Azad Jammu and Kashmir cleared the exam this year.
Overall success and group preferences
After the completion of the written exams and interviews, the FPSC declared a total of 229 candidates successful in the final selection process.
Among the top 20 position holders, 19 candidates opted for the Pakistan Administrative Service (PAS) — historically one of the most sought-after cadres — while one candidate chose the Police Service of Pakistan (PSP).
The trend reflects continued interest in the administrative service, which remains the top preference among CSS qualifiers due to its broad scope and career influence in governance.
