Security forces carried out an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Dera Ismail Khan, killing seven terrorists belonging to the Indian-backed proxy group Fitnat-ul-Khawarij, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) reported on Thursday.
According to the ISPR, the operation was launched based on confirmed intelligence regarding the presence of militants in the Daraban area of Dera Ismail Khan. The terrorists were reportedly involved in multiple attacks targeting innocent civilians and security forces in recent months.
Seven terrorists of Indian proxy killed
During the intense operation, seven terrorists linked to Indian sponsorship were killed. The ISPR confirmed that all were members of the proscribed group Fitnat-ul-Khawarij, which has been behind several violent incidents across the region.
The security forces also recovered a cache of arms and ammunition from the slain terrorists, preventing potential future attacks in the area.
Maj Sibtain martyred
In the line of duty, Major Sibtain Haider, aged 30, embraced martyrdom during the fierce exchange of fire. He belonged to Quetta district and was leading the operation from the front.

The ISPR paid rich tribute to Major Sibtain’s bravery and sacrifice, acknowledging his unwavering commitment to protecting the nation.
Clearance operation underway
Following the encounter, security forces launched a clearance operation to eliminate any remaining terrorists or collaborators in the vicinity. The ISPR reaffirmed the military’s determination to eradicate all forms of terrorism from the country.
“This operation reflects the resolve of Pakistan’s security forces to eliminate the menace of terrorism in all its forms and manifestations,” the ISPR said, emphasizing that no group threatening national stability will be spared.
