ISLAMABAD: In a strong gesture of solidarity, China has announced additional flood relief supplies worth 100 million yuan (approximately USD 13.7 million) for Pakistan. This comes in addition to the USD 2 million emergency assistance that Beijing had already pledged earlier.
According to a statement shared by the Chinese Embassy in Pakistan, the aid aims to further support Islamabad’s ongoing efforts in disaster relief and post-flood reconstruction. The supplies will include essential relief items and resources to help affected communities recover from the devastating floods.
China has consistently stood by Pakistan in times of crisis. Last year as well, Beijing dispatched emergency relief materials, tents, and food packages during the unprecedented monsoon floods that affected millions across the country.
The embassy reiterated that China and Pakistan are “iron brothers” and “all-weather strategic partners,” stressing that Beijing will continue to support Pakistan in overcoming natural disasters and rebuilding lives.
