With the
lineup freshly launched, attention is already turning to what Apple has in store for 2025 and beyond. From new iPads and Macs to a budget iPhone 17e and a long-rumored smart home hub, here’s what could be coming next.
Apple recently unveiled the iPhone 17 series, introducing the iPhone 17, 17 Pro, 17 Pro Max, and the slimmer iPhone Air. The lineup features the new A19 Pro chip, upgraded cameras, and a striking new design.
The iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max now use an aluminum unibody with Ceramic Shield 2 for tougher durability. The most noticeable change is the new “plateau” camera bar, which stretches across the back.
Pricing starts at $1,099 for the Pro and $1,199 for the Pro Max, with storage options now beginning at 256GB. The Pro Max also offers a massive 2TB model. Pre-orders opened September 12, with global availability from September 19.
Apple boosted its telephoto lens from 12MP to 48MP, supporting up to 8x optical zoom, making it one of the most powerful zoom cameras on any smartphone.
The front-facing camera also received an upgrade from 12MP to 18MP, with support for dual recording using both front and rear lenses simultaneously.
What comes after iPhone 17?
According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple has at least 10 new products lined up for late 2025 and early 2026. Some are expected upgrades, while others could be firsts for Apple.
M5 iPad Pro
Apple’s M5 iPad Pro may arrive as soon as October. It’s rumored to include a second front-facing camera for portrait orientation, making it the first Apple device with this design tweak.
New MacBook Pros and MacBook Airs
Upgraded MacBook Pros and Airs featuring the M5 chip are expected in early 2026, continuing Apple’s push toward faster, more efficient silicon.
iPhone 17e
A budget-friendly iPhone 17e is reportedly in development for early 2026. While most features will remain the same as the iPhone 16e, it will get an A19 chip upgrade, bringing it closer in line with the flagship series.
Apple TV and HomePod Mini Refresh
Both devices could receive processor upgrades in 2026, along with support for Apple Intelligence and the new Siri experience.
Vision Pro Update
The Vision Pro headset is also set for a refresh. Expectations include an M4 chip and an improved headband, though a major redesign isn’t likely until 2027.
The J490 Smart Home Hub
Perhaps the most intriguing is the long-rumored smart home hub, code-named J490. Details remain scarce, but it could unify Apple’s HomeKit ecosystem and compete directly with devices like Amazon Echo Show or Google Nest Hub.
