With the high-voltage Asia Cup showdown between Pakistan and India set to light up the Dubai International Cricket Stadium in just a few hours, Dubai Police have issued a strong warning to fans.
Authorities stressed that any form of violence, racism, or abusive behaviour will not be tolerated, and offenders will face heavy fines and even jail time. Fans have been urged to uphold sportsmanship and follow rules.
Full security preparedness
Dubai’s Events Security Committee (ESC) has assured that all necessary arrangements are in place to ensure a safe and peaceful match environment.
Major General Saif Muhair Al Mazrouei, Assistant Commander-in-Chief for Operations at Dubai Police and Chairman of the ESC, confirmed that specialised police units will be deployed across the venue to secure all Asia Cup 2025 matches.
He warned that any attempt to disrupt safety inside or outside the stadium would be dealt with firmly. “Legal measures will be taken immediately to protect both fans and facilities,” Al Mazrouei said.
Strict legal penalties
Citing the Federal Law on the Security of Sports Facilities and Events, Dubai Police outlined strict punishments for offenders.
- Entering the pitch without authorisation or carrying banned items such as fireworks could result in 1–3 months in prison and fines of Dh5,000–Dh30,000.
- Acts of violence, throwing objects, or using racist or abusive language carry penalties of imprisonment and fines between Dh10,000–Dh30,000.
Officials made it clear that immediate legal action will be taken against violators to maintain discipline and safeguard spectators.
Key instructions for fans
The ESC issued a set of important guidelines to ensure smooth entry and order during the Pakistan-India clash. Fans have been advised to:
- Arrive at least three hours before kick-off
- Enter the stadium only once per valid ticket
- Respect the list of prohibited items
- Avoid random or illegal parking near the venue
List of prohibited items
Dubai Police have also released a comprehensive list of banned items to ensure safety inside the stadium. These include:
- Fireworks, flammable substances, lasers, and toxic materials
- Umbrellas, large cameras, selfie sticks, sharp objects, and glass items
- Remote-controlled devices, bicycles, scooters, and skateboards
- Flags, banners, and pets
Authorities emphasized that such restrictions are necessary to protect spectators, players, officials, and all attendees.

Dubai Police urged fans to adopt a positive and civilized attitude during the game. “The stadium environment will remain peaceful, and the safety of the fans will be ensured,” Al Mazrouei assured.
