Alam whose 1965 feat will forever be remembered in the history of aerial warfare.On September 7, 1965, the Pakistan Air Force foiled the enemy’s nefarious intentions and made history, achieving air superiority over the rival — a feat once again demonstrated during the air combat in May, when PAF fighters shot down enemy aircraft.In commemoration of this historic day, Air Force Day is being observed nationwide. The nation takes pride in the sacrifices and achievements of its brave soldiers.During the 1965 war, Squadron Leader Alam performed a heroic act that remains unparalleled in military history: he shot down five Indian fighter jets in under one minute. This remarkable accomplishment is still considered an unforgettable chapter in the history of the Air Force.Throughout the 1965 war, PAF pilots displayed courage and skill, crushing the enemy’s evil intentions.PRESIDENT PRAISES PAFPresident Asif Ali Zardari said, in his message, that the Pakistan Air Force wrote a new chapter of bravery during the 1965 war. The PAF demonstrated exceptional skill and professional courage.He added that the “Pakistan Air Force has always defended the nation’s airspace, and the nation salutes its martyrs and veterans. The PAF played a decisive role in Marka-e-Haq, and the nation takes pride in the capabilities of its air force.”The president said that the modern capabilities of the Pakistan Air Force are a guarantee of the nation’s defense.
