In Pir Mahal, the embankment at Mai Saforan was deliberately breached to protect Head Sadhnai, creating a flood situation in the area.
The embankment was blown up with explosives, raising fears that nearly 30 nearby villages could be submerged.
According to SAMAA’s correspondent, the administration took this step to avert a major disaster, while residents of the affected villages have been instructed to move to safer locations immediately.
