Pakistan and China, during the 6th Strategic Dialogue in Islamabad, reaffirmed their strong partnership and commitment to advancing the upgraded China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). Both sides agreed to transform CPEC into a “growth, livelihood-enhancing, green, and open corridor,” expanding cooperation in industry, agriculture, mining, Gwadar Port, and the ML-1 railway project. They also pledged closer collaboration at multilateral forums, especially the UN, and preparations for Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s upcoming visit to China for the SCO summit. Marking the 75th anniversary of diplomatic ties next year, both countries will organize special events. China assured continued support for Pakistan’s sovereignty, counter-terrorism efforts, and disaster relief, while emphasizing their shared vision of regional peace, stability, and prosperity.
