The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) called on the international community to support collective efforts, without discrimination, to eliminate terrorism in all its forms.
Pakistan has reaffirmed its solidarity with the global community in observing the International Day of Remembrance and Tribute to the Victims of Terrorism.
In a statement issued on Thursday, the MoFA spokesperson said that the day symbolises unity with all victims of terrorism across the world. The statement underscored Pakistan’s continued support for this international cause.
According to the MoFA, Pakistan has been a direct victim of terrorism. Terrorist activities and planning have frequently originated from across the border. The country now faces evolving forms of terrorism, while its security forces and civilians have made extraordinary sacrifices for regional and global peace.
More than 90,000 Pakistanis have lost their lives in the fight against terrorism, and the nation has endured economic losses exceeding $150 billion.
The spokesperson paid tribute to the bravery of the country’s martyrs and heroes. The statement also reiterated Pakistan’s unwavering solidarity with the oppressed people of Indian-occupied Kashmir and saluted the resolute people of Palestine resisting Israeli aggression.
