Pakistan and the United States have reaffirmed their resolve to eliminate terrorism in all its forms, following bilateral talks on counter-terrorism cooperation.
According to a joint statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, both countries underscored the need for an effective strategy to counter threats posed by groups such as the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA), ISIS-Khorasan and Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).
The United States acknowledged Pakistan’s efforts and achievements in containing terrorist elements and extended condolences over the loss of lives in recent attacks, including the Jaffar Express bombing and the Khuzdar school bus explosion.
Both sides agreed on the necessity of a joint strategy to prevent the use of modern technology in acts of terrorism. The statement also highlighted the importance of strengthening institutional frameworks and enhancing capabilities to combat terrorism more effectively.
Reaffirming their commitment to close cooperation at the United Nations and other multilateral forums, Pakistan and the United States emphasised the importance of sustained and structured engagement for long-term peace and stability.
The talks were co-chaired by Special Secretary Nabeel Munir and Acting Coordinator Gregory D. LoGerfo from the US Department of State.
