The Supreme Court was scheduled to hear Bahria Town’s appeal against the decision to auction its properties under a bench headed by Chief Justice Yahya Afridi.
However, the chief justice recused himself from hearing the case and referred it back to the previous bench, stating that it would be more appropriate for the same bench to continue proceedings.
Bahria Town’s counsel informed the court that the Islamabad High Court’s detailed judgment had been issued and that he intended to submit additional arguments. The court granted permission for the submission.
The previous hearing was conducted by a three-member bench headed by Justice Aminuddin. The Supreme Court has adjourned further proceedings indefinitely.
