Authorities have enforced Section 144 in the hill station for three days, restricting public entry to only tourist families on Murree’s Mall Road.
The move aims to manage crowd control during peak tourist season.

The Deputy Commissioner of Murree announced that Section 144 will remain in effect from August 12 to August 14. During this period, only tourist families will be permitted to access the Mall Road area.
The decision comes as part of efforts to ensure public safety and maintain smooth flow of visitors, particularly amid the Independence Day holiday rush.
Legal action for violations
Officials have warned that any violation of Section 144 will result in strict legal consequences. Offenders may face charges under Section 188 of the Pakistan Penal Code, which can lead to fines or imprisonment.
The notification further stated that police and administration teams will be present on-site to monitor compliance and facilitate families visiting the area.
