Bollywood actor Aamir Khan has broken his silence after his brother Faissal Khan’s explosive claims that the superstar mistreated him and kept him confined in their home for over a year.
The family has issued a joint statement calling the allegations “hurtful and misleading,” marking a rare public united front in a deeply personal dispute.
Aamir khan responds to faissal khan’s allegations
In a statement signed by multiple members of the Khan family – including Reena Datta, Junaid Khan, Ira Khan, Kiran Rao, Mansoor Khan, Nuzhat Khan, Imran Khan, and others – the family said every decision regarding Faissal had been made collectively, after consultation with medical professionals, and always “based on love, compassion, and concern for his emotional and psychological wellbeing.”

The statement read:
“We are distressed by Faissal’s misleading portrayal of his mother Zeenat Tahir Husain, his sister Nikhat Hegde, and his brother Aamir. As this is not the first time he has misrepresented these events, we feel it is necessary to clarify our intentions and reaffirm our solidarity as a family.”
The family also urged the media to show “empathy” and not turn the matter into “salacious and inflammatory gossip.”
What Faissal Khan said
In a recent interview with Pinkvilla, Faissal alleged that his family had labelled him as schizophrenic, calling him “a mad person” who could harm society. He claimed that Aamir kept him under “house arrest” in Mumbai for over a year, trapping him in a “chakravyuh” (vicious cycle) where the entire family was against him.

Faissal said he prayed for his father’s help, who was living separately at the time, but had no way to reach him. He also recalled that after a year of confinement, Aamir allowed him to move into another home.
A history of strained relations
The brothers’ relationship has long been rocky. In the past, Faissal was involved in a legal battle after being asked to relinquish his signing powers. He also underwent a 20-day mental health evaluation at JJ Hospital, where doctors declared him mentally fit.
The two last worked together in the 2000 film Mela, alongside Twinkle Khanna. Faissal’s latest remarks have reignited public interest in their long-standing family tensions.
While Faissal continues to share his version of events publicly, Aamir Khan and his family maintain that their actions were intended to safeguard his wellbeing, urging the public and media to treat the matter sensitively.
