The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has officially requested permission to hold a political rally at the iconic Minar-e-Pakistan Ground in Lahore on August 5.
PTI Lahore President Sheikh Imtiaz submitted a formal application to the deputy commissioner, urging the district administration to allow the party to use the venue for what it says is a peaceful and democratic gathering. It asked in its application to allow the rally at another suitable place in case the Minar-e-Pakistan Ground was unavailable.
The request comes as part of the party’s broader political strategy, as PTI has already announced a nationwide protest for August 5.
Minar-e-Pakistan has historically been a significant political site for the PTI, with the party holding several major rallies there in the past.
