Punjab’s Motor Vehicle Registration System has been unavailable for two days, causing inconvenience to citizens across the province.
The Motor Vehicle Registration System operated by the Punjab Excise and Taxation Department has been non-functional for the past two days, leaving citizens frustrated.
According to excise officials, the system is currently undergoing a revamp, which has led to the suspension of services.
Officials stated that certain tax rates have recently been revised, and the system is being upgraded accordingly to reflect the changes.
As a result, excise offices across Punjab remain non-operational today, leaving citizens with no option but to wait.
“Repeated visits to the excise office in this heat are extremely difficult,” said a local resident.
Citizens also complained that excise staff appeared to be engaged in casual conversations rather than addressing public concerns.
“System upgrades should be scheduled during weekends or public holidays to avoid inconvenience,” another resident suggested.
However, the Director of Excise urged the public not to worry, expressing hope that the system may be restored by tomorrow.
