The Supreme Court of Pakistan has implemented an e-filing system across all of its registries, according to an official statement.
According to details, the e-filing system is now active at the principal seat in Islamabad as well as in the Lahore, Peshawar, Karachi, and Quetta registries. Petitions, memos, judgments, and orders will now be available online, the SChas announced.
Under the new case management system, litigants will be informed via email, the official statement added. The adoption of e-filing is expected to significantly reduce the use of paper, time, and costs.
The Supreme Court has made it mandatory for lawyers to register for the e-filing system. Details of lawyers’ mobile numbers and email addresses have been requested from Bar Councils, the statement further noted.
Government departments have also been directed to appoint focal persons to assist with the e-filing process. A contact number has been issued to raise awareness and assist with matters related to e-filing.
