The rescue and search operation in the Swat River tragedy entered its sixth day , as teams continued efforts to locate missing victims, officials said.
Rescue workers, supported by the district administration and civil defense teams, are conducting the operation from Kanju Bridge to Barikot. Divers, rescue boats, and modern search equipment are being used, according to a spokesperson.
Authorities said the operation would persist until the recovery of the body of Abdullah, a young man from Daska, who remains missing. So far, 12 bodies have been recovered since the incident occurred.
Meanwhile, a separate anti-encroachment operation in the region has been temporarily suspended. Officials have released a list targeting illegal structures in the Fiza Gat area. The Irrigation Department has identified 38 encroachment sites, and authorities believe additional politically connected individuals may be implicated.
