China launched its National Energy Efficiency Promotion Week on Monday in Qingdao City, east China’s Shandong Province, with a theme on energy saving and efficiency improvement.
This year, the energy efficiency promotion week will run through June 23 to 29, and the National Low-carbon Day will be observed on June 25.
During the week-long event, national and local authorities will host various on-site activities focusing on energy conservation achievements, green consumption, digital empowerment, and public participation. A series of exhibitions on energy saving and carbon reduction will also be held.
The event will highlight significant milestones in the country’s energy efficiency and carbon reduction efforts, including the fifth anniversary of China’s carbon peak and carbon neutrality commitment and the 20th anniversary of the implementation of the energy efficiency labeling system. Promotional activities will cover energy efficiency improvement in industry, energy-saving and carbon reduction in the building sector, and green, low-carbon transformation in the transportation sector.
China has held the energy-saving week for 34 years, which has played a vital role in enhancing energy efficiency, promoting sustainable economic development, and supporting the comprehensive green transformation of society.
