Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Sunday held separate telephone conversations with the leaders of Turkiye, Oman, and Kazakhstan to exchange Eid-ul-Adha greetings and discuss bilateral relations and regional developments.
In a conversation with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, the prime minister conveyed warm Eid greetings to the government and people of Turkiye. He expressed gratitude for Turkiye’s unwavering support for Pakistan during the recent Indo-Pak war, reaffirming the historical and strategic bond between the two nations.
Both leaders reiterated their firm commitment to each other’s core interests and agreed to implement decisions made during earlier high-level meetings, underscoring a desire to enhance cooperation across various sectors.
Later, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif spoke with Sultan Haitham bin Tariq of Oman. He appreciated Oman’s constructive stance during the recent conflict between Pakistan and India, particularly its support for de-escalation and dialogue.
The two leaders emphasized the importance of strengthening bilateral cooperation in all fields, including trade, investment, and regional peace. Sultan Haitham accepted the prime minister’s invitation to visit Pakistan, and both sides exchanged invitations for official visits.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also spoke to President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev of Kazakhstan, offering Eid greetings and praising the positive momentum in Pakistan-Kazakhstan relations.
The two leaders discussed the upcoming state visit of President Tokayev to Pakistan, which is expected later this year. During the visit, the two countries are expected to sign several MoUs and bilateral agreements, aimed at further enhancing economic and diplomatic ties.
