China has expressed its readiness to play a constructive role in improving and advancing relations between Pakistan and Afghanistan.
According to details surfaced on Wednesday, Lin Jian, spokesperson for China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said: “Both the Pakistani government and the interim Afghan administration have announced their decision to upgrade their diplomatic missions to the ambassadorial level. China has welcomed this development.”
The spokesperson said that China believes this step will help build mutual trust between the two countries, further strengthen cooperation and promote peace and stability in the region.
He added that this is a significant and positive move, reflecting the commitment of Pakistan and Afghanistan to implement the outcomes of the informal trilateral meeting held in May this year between the foreign ministers of China, Afghanistan and Pakistan.
