The district administration of Peshawar on Saturday imposed Section 144 in the vicinity of Bacha Khan Airport for a period of two months, effective immediately.
The decision aims to enhance security and safety around the airport premises.
Under the newly issued notification, activities including aerial firing, pigeon shooting, and kite flying have been strictly prohibited in areas adjacent to the airport. Additionally, the use of drones, high-powered lasers, and beam lights will also be banned.
Officials warned that any violation of the imposed Section 144 orders will be dealt with according to the law. Security forces have been instructed to strictly enforce the ban to prevent any untoward incident that could compromise airport security or public safety.
The administration emphasised that the temporary restrictions are precautionary measures to ensure smooth operations and heightened vigilance in the sensitive airport zone.
