The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has officially launched a nationwide “Go Cashless” campaign on the occasion of Eidul Adha.
The campaign began on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, and will continue until the night of Eidul Adha.
With support from the banking industry, the initiative seeks to facilitate smoother, safer, and more transparent transactions in dozens of livestock markets across the country during the busy sacrificial season.
During this year’s campaign, a range of digital payment solutions will be made available for various transactions, including the purchase of sacrificial animals, payments for essential goods such as water and fodder, and even parking fees at the markets.
To further ease the digital payment process, SBP has temporarily raised transaction limits from May 19 to June 15, 2025, allowing traders and buyers to complete larger transactions digitally without inconvenience.
Experts from the Pakistan Meteorological Department and astronomers have predicted the sighting of the Zul Hijjah moon on May 28, indicating that Eid-ul-Azha is likely to be observed on June 7 nationwide.
