Senate Chairman Yousuf Raza Gilani has conveyed the sincere wishes of the Government of Pakistan and its people to Pope Leo during the spiritual inauguration ceremony held at the Vatican.
Gilani has attended the ceremony as Pakistan’s official representative. His presence is being regarded as a symbol of interfaith harmony and goodwill. He has reiterated that interfaith dialogue, peace, and mutual respect are integral elements of Pakistan’s foreign policy.
Gilani has emphasised that, in accordance with the vision of Pakistan’s founder, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, followers of all religions have the right to live with dignity and freedom in Pakistan.
Leaders and dignitaries from across the world have also attended Pope Leo’s inauguration ceremony.
