The United States has announced new sanctions targeting six individuals and twelve entities linked to Iran and China.
According to the US Treasury Department, the sanctions have been imposed on companies involved in manufacturing components for Iran’s ballistic missile programme. The objective of the sanctions is to prevent Iran from acquiring parts for ballistic missiles and drones, the department stated.
Organisations overseeing Iran’s missile programme are also among those targeted by the sanctions, according to the Treasury.
Separately, United States President Donald Trump disclosed on Wednesday that Qatar Airways had placed an order for 160 Boeing aircraft.
During his media interaction in Doha, President Trump announced the landmark aviation agreement. “Qatar has ordered 160 Boeing planes. The agreement exceeds $200 billion,” President Trump stated while addressing the press in the Qatari capital.
According to President Trump, this strategic accord reflected the flourishing bilateral relations. “The relationship between Qatar and the United States has touched new heights,” he declared.
