Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif thanked Chinese Premier Li Qiang for supporting Pakistan’s call for a credible international investigation into the April 22 attack in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), which killed 26 people. During a meeting with Chinese Ambassador Jiang Zaidong, he appreciated China’s consistent backing amid regional tensions and reiterated Pakistan’s condemnation of terrorism. Sharif criticized India’s aggressive posture, warning it could undermine Pakistan’s counterterrorism efforts, and condemned India’s alleged “water aggression” as a violation of the Indus Waters Treaty. He emphasized that resolving the Kashmir dispute is vital for lasting peace in South Asia. Ambassador Jiang reaffirmed China’s support for Pakistan’s stance and regional peace.
