The State Bank of Pakistan will announce its new monetary policy on May 5. The business community and economic experts anticipate a reduction in interest rates.
A meeting of the Monetary Policy Committee will be held on Monday at the central bank under the chairmanship of State Bank Governor Jameel Ahmad, where the committee will decide on the interest rate.
According to the State Bank, the interest rate determination will be announced through a press release.
A brokerage house survey suggests that the State Bank may reduce the interest rate by 0.5 to 1 percent. Currently, the base interest rate stands at 12 percent, which was kept stable in the previous meeting.
