The Ministry of Religious Affairs has announced the commencement of Hajj applications for a limited quota of 5,000 pilgrims under the government Hajj scheme. Applications are being accepted on a first-come, first-served basis starting today, and the process will cease immediately once the quota is filled. Rescue efforts are ongoing to save miners trapped in a collapsed coal mine in Sanjdi, Balochistan. Chief Inspector of Mines, Abdul Ghani, informed SAMAA that the rescue operation is being hampered by the presence of toxic gases and blocked pathways inside the mine. Iqama of dependents of expatriates and house workers can extend from outside Saudi Arabia The General Directorate of Passports (Jawazat) has announced that dependents of expatriates and domestic workers located outside Saudi Arabia can now renew their residency permits (Iqama) through the online platforms of Absher and Muqeem. Additionally, residents outside the Kingdom can extend the period of single or multiple exit and re-entry visas. The Jawazat noted that beneficiaries can access these services through the Ministry of Interior’s electronic platform Absher and the Muqeem Portal after paying the service fees as stipulated by regulations.
The federal government has decided to keep passport delivery counters operational 24 hours a day across all cities in Pakistan in a significant move to streamline passport services and ensure timely issuance and delivery of passports to citizens.
