A train derailed in northeastern Thailand on Wednesday after a construction crane fell on three of its carriages, killing at least 19 people and injuring about 80, police said. Iconic tourist destinations in southwest China’s Xizang Autonomous Region, including the Potala Palace, are currently open to the public free of charge until March 15, 2026.
