Pakistan has taken a step towards expanding artificial intelligence (AI) in education, with Gauth AI announcing 4,000 free premium subscriptions for Pakistani teachers under a partnership with the Federal Ministry of Education.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif attended the MoU signing ceremony as a special guest, describing the collaboration as significant for the country’s education sector and its wider development.
Addressing the ceremony, the prime minister said the agreement with Gauth AI would create new opportunities for students, teachers and the younger generation through modern educational technology.
He commended Gauth AI for offering 4,000 free premium subscriptions to Pakistani teachers, saying the partnership would contribute to Pakistan’s development and prosperity.
Shehbaz said the government was committed to empowering young people and ensuring they could benefit from modern technology. He added that all necessary resources would be provided to strengthen education and help students develop their capabilities.
The prime minister also stressed the need to explore further improvements in the education sector through modern teaching methods and technology-based learning facilities.
Danish Schools could drive educational transformation
Shehbaz highlighted the potential of Danish Schools to help bring about an educational revolution by providing quality education to students.
He emphasised that construction work at these institutions must meet high quality standards, underlining the importance of maintaining quality alongside the expansion of educational facilities.
The prime minister said students at Danish Schools receive a range of facilities, including food, accommodation, free uniforms and modern educational resources.
He reiterated that the government would provide the resources required to support students’ education and nurture their abilities, enabling young people to benefit from emerging technologies and improved learning opportunities.
Shaza Fatima stresses modern education and employment
Federal Minister for Information Technology Shaza Fatima said providing modern education and employment opportunities to young people remained a government priority.
She emphasised that promoting modern technology was essential to addressing the challenges of the contemporary era, adding that technology-based education could empower young people and open up new employment opportunities.
Fatima also pointed to the presence of Danish Schools students at the ceremony, describing it as a reflection of a vision focused on equipping young people with modern education.
She said artificial intelligence was rapidly transforming education and digital content creation, with AI-powered learning tools offering opportunities to strengthen students’ critical thinking skills.
TikTok introduces dedicated STEM feed in Pakistan
Maria Cohen, the regional director of Global Public Policy at ByteDance, also addressed the ceremony, highlighting the role of modern technology in creating effective learning opportunities. She said measures were being taken to promote a culture of learning through TikTok, including the introduction of a dedicated STEM feed in Pakistan.
The feed focuses on Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) and gives young people access to educational content through the social media platform.
Shaza Fatima said the initiative aimed to direct children’s social media use towards educational and positive activities, providing them with access to learning resources and new opportunities to develop their knowledge.
She also announced that TikTok would collaborate in providing AI technology training to Pakistani content creators, supporting their ability to work with emerging digital tools.
AI tools to support teachers and students
The agreement between the Federal Ministry of Education and Gauth AI is intended to expand educational support for teachers and students through advanced AI technology.
The provision of 4,000 free premium subscriptions will give selected Pakistani teachers access to Gauth AI’s educational tools, although the announcement did not specify the eligibility criteria or distribution process.
The initiative forms part of broader efforts to promote modern, AI-based educational facilities in Pakistan and introduce technology-driven approaches to teaching and learning.
Officials highlighted the potential of these tools to improve learning opportunities, support teachers and help students develop the skills needed in an increasingly technology-driven world.
The partnership, alongside efforts to expand educational content through TikTok’s STEM feed and provide AI training to content creators, reflects a wider push to integrate modern technology into education and digital skills development.
