Security forces have killed nine terrorists, including four key commanders, during intelligence-based operations against terrorists in North Waziristan, according to security sources.
The operations were carried out in the Palangzai, Nadeem Kot and Kot Khizri areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa under the Azm-e-Istehkam vision, with several terrorist hideouts destroyed and a large quantity of weapons and ammunition recovered.
According to security sources, the nine eliminated terrorists included four key commanders identified as Khalid Raza, Kamran, Musa and Maftoom.
Security forces recovered a large quantity of weapons and ammunition from the slain terrorists during the successful operations. Multiple terrorist hideouts were also destroyed as part of the intelligence-based actions.
The operations represent a major blow to terrorists as security forces continue efforts against terrorist elements in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa under the Azm-e-Istehkam vision.
PM Shehbaz commends security forces
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif commended the security forces for the successful operations in North Waziristan and paid tribute to the officers and personnel involved in eliminating the nine terrorists.
The prime minister praised the professional competence and resolve of the security forces, saying the effective operations reflected Pakistan’s unwavering determination to eradicate terrorism and establish lasting peace. He said the security forces were performing commendable services for the elimination of terrorism and the establishment of lasting peace.
Prime Minister Sharif further stressed that terrorists would not be allowed to spread unrest in the country or succeed in their nefarious designs.
Naqvi pays tribute to security forces
Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi also paid tribute to the security forces for their successful operations against terrorists in North Waziristan.
Naqvi lauded the resolve of the security forces for eliminating nine terrorists, including four key commanders, and said operations against terrorists without discrimination were underway and would continue under the Azm-e-Istehkam vision.
“The war against terrorism will continue until all elements of Fitna-al-Khawarij are eradicated,” the interior minister said.
He added that the entire nation stood with its brave security forces in their efforts to eliminate terrorism and restore lasting peace across the country.
