Actor Zara Noor Abbas has spoken about the character she plays in the upcoming anthology film Shehroze, while also sharing what she would do if she were given the opportunity to serve as a police officer for a day.
A collaboration between Sindh Films and Geo Films, Shehroze brings together three stories centred on different women. Abbas plays the lead role in one of the segments, Gear Up, directed by Saqib Khan.
The actor is returning to the big screen after a seven-year gap and is currently busy promoting the film.

Speaking to Geo Digital, Abbas said her character in Gear Up is also named Saira.
She plays an officer working with a bomb disposal squad whose abilities are overlooked because she is a woman.
Describing the character, Abbas said Saira discovers that a bomb has been planted somewhere and must not only defuse it but also prove that she is capable of handling the responsibility.
“I find out that there is a bomb placed somewhere. I have to defuse it and also prove that I can do it,” she said.
What would she do as a police officer?
During the interview, Abbas was asked what she would do if she were made a police officer for one day.
In response, the actor said she would take action against people accused of sexual violence against women and children.
“If I get the opportunity, I would hang all those involved in cases of abuse against women and children. I would not see what the law says; whoever is involved, I would hang them,” she said.
Her remarks were made in response to a hypothetical interview question and reflected the actor’s personal response rather than a statement about legal procedure.
Husband Asad Siddiqui gets a mention
Abbas was also asked which celebrity she would arrest if she became a police officer.
She jokingly named her husband, actor Asad Siddiqui.
“If I had to arrest someone, I would arrest my husband Asad Siddiqui. We are happily living together right now, but even if I were angry, I would still arrest Asad,” she said.
When asked who she would place in an interrogation room, Abbas named actor Fahad Mustafa.
Shehroze set for October 2 release
Produced under Tamasha Films, Shehroze is scheduled to release in cinemas across Pakistan on October 2.
The anthology features three separate stories, with Ushna Shah appearing in Punch and Kinza Hashmi playing the lead role in Artist.
For Abbas, the film marks her return to the big screen after seven years, with the actor now focusing on promoting the project ahead of its theatrical release.
