Security forces have killed six terrorists and arrested nine suspects during ongoing operations in Balochistan under Operation Shaban-2, according to security sources.
The operations were conducted in the Saran Tangi area on the basis of intelligence reports, with security forces targeting what officials described as members of “Fitna-al-Hindustan”.
Security sources said large quantities of weapons and ammunition were recovered from the terrorists’ possession during the operations.
Operations continue in Balochistan
According to security sources, the latest operations are part of an ongoing campaign against militant groups in Balochistan.
The forces have continued search and sanitisation operations in the area, while nine suspects were taken into custody for questioning.
Security sources said the operations would continue until the last terrorist threat is eliminated.
Recent reporting on Operation Shaban-2 has also said security forces conducted operations across several areas of Balochistan, with Saran Tangi among the locations targeted.
Mohsin Naqvi praises security forces
Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi commended the security forces for what he described as successful operations against terrorists in Balochistan.
Naqvi praised the professional capabilities of the security personnel and their role in neutralising six terrorists.
He said the security forces had thwarted what he described as the “nefarious designs” of terrorists.
“The brave personnel of the security forces are the nation’s pride,” Naqvi said.
The interior minister added that the nation stood shoulder-to-shoulder with the security forces in efforts to counter terrorism.
