Apple’s iPhone 20 Pro and iPhone 20 Pro Max could feature larger displays than their current-generation counterparts, according to leaked specifications shared by tipster Ice Universe.
The reported specifications suggest the iPhone 20 Pro could have a 6.41-inch display, while the iPhone 20 Pro Max could feature a 6.96-inch panel.
The information remains unconfirmed, and the devices are still expected to be more than a year away from launch.
iPhone 20 Pro Max tipped for 6.96-inch display
According to the leak, the iPhone 20 Pro Max could feature a 6.96-inch display with a resolution of 1340 x 2912.
For comparison, the current iPhone 18 Pro Max reportedly features a 6.86-inch display with a resolution of 1320 x 2868.
The standard Pro model is also expected to receive a display increase, with the leaked specifications pointing to a 6.41-inch screen and a resolution of 1236 x 2686.
The iPhone 18 Pro has a 6.27-inch display with a resolution of 1206 x 2622.
Major redesign reportedly in development
Apple is expected to mark the 20th anniversary of the original iPhone in 2027, and reports have suggested the company could skip the iPhone 19 name and move directly to the iPhone 20 series.
Rumours surrounding the anniversary models have pointed to a major redesign, potentially including a quad-curved display that extends around all four edges.
Other reported features include an under-display Face ID system and front-facing camera, a bezel-free design and solid-state buttons with haptic feedback.
Bloomberg has previously reported that the design for the iPhone 20 Pro models is largely finalised, although Apple has not confirmed these details.
A21 Pro chip and up to 16GB RAM
The leaked specifications also point to the use of an A21 Pro chipset in both the iPhone 20 Pro and Pro Max.
The devices could reportedly feature between 12GB and 16GB of RAM. There has also been speculation that Apple could explore High Bandwidth Memory (HBM), a technology currently used extensively in AI data-centre applications.
HBM uses vertically stacked memory architecture to provide high bandwidth and efficiency, although it remains unclear whether Apple will use the technology in its future iPhones.
Pro Max could get 6,000mAh battery
The iPhone 20 Pro Max could also receive a significant battery upgrade.
Early speculation points to a 6,000mAh battery, compared with a reported 5,567mAh capacity for the US version of the iPhone 18 Pro Max.
Apple is also reportedly considering silicon-based battery technology, which could offer higher energy density than conventional lithium-ion cells.
Combined with a potential second-generation 2nm manufacturing process for the A21 Pro chip and a new Apple C3 modem, these changes could improve the device’s power efficiency and battery capacity.
However, all of these specifications remain early reports and could change before the expected 2027 launch.
