Bollywood actors Rani Mukerji and Abhishek Bachchan are reportedly set to reunite on screen in Shah Rukh Khan’s upcoming film ‘King’, according to a recent report.
The actors are said to have been considered for roles opposite each other in the film, which is being directed by Siddharth Anand.
Rani Mukerji has previously been linked to King, with reports suggesting that she could play the mother of Suhana Khan’s character. Her role was reportedly expected to be an extended cameo.
Rani Mukerji, Shah Rukh Khan reunion
The reported casting would also mark Rani Mukerji’s return to the screen alongside Shah Rukh Khan.
The two actors last appeared together in Karan Johar’s Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna, which was released in 2006.
Rani and Abhishek’s reported reunion is said to be part of the film’s expanding ensemble cast. However, the filmmakers have not officially confirmed the reported pairing.
Star-studded cast
King has generated considerable attention ahead of its theatrical release, with the film featuring a large ensemble cast.
The cast reportedly includes Shah Rukh Khan, Suhana Khan, Deepika Padukone, Abhishek Bachchan, Rani Mukerji, Anil Kapoor, Arshad Warsi, Abhay Verma and Raghav Juyal.
The project is being directed by Siddharth Anand.
The film also recently drew attention after a video circulated online that was claimed to show a scene from King. The authenticity of the footage was not officially established.
King release date
King is currently scheduled to arrive in cinemas on December 24, 2026.
