Indian actor Salman Khan celebrated Raksha Bandhan with his family as he visited his sister Alvira Khan’s residence for the Hindu festival.
The 60-year-old actor was spotted leaving Alvira’s home on Friday, August 28, wearing a maroon T-shirt, blue jeans and a cowboy hat. Several colourful rakhis were visible on his wrist, while a tilak could also be seen on his forehead.
Salman briefly stopped for photographers before leaving and raised his wrist to show the rakhis tied around it.
Family celebrates Raksha Bandhan together
Salman’s younger sister Arpita Khan Sharma also shared moments from the family celebrations on her Instagram Stories.
In one of the videos, Arpita could be seen performing aarti for Salman before tying a rakhi around his wrist.
Her daughter, Ayat, also joined the celebrations and tied rakhis to her cousins Arhaan Khan, Nirvaan Khan and Ayaan Agnihotri.
The family gathering also included veteran actress Helen, who was seen arriving at Alvira’s residence, along with other members of the Khan family.
Fans praise message of religious harmony
Arpita’s video attracted attention online, with fans highlighting the family’s diverse religious backgrounds.
Arpita is married to Hindu actor Aayush Sharma, while Salman comes from a Muslim family. The presence of a painting depicting Jesus in the background of the video also caught the attention of social media users.
Several fans described the moment as an example of religious harmony, with one user calling it an example of different faiths coming together as a family.
Who are Salman Khan’s siblings?
Salman is one of five children of screenwriter Salim Khan and Salma Khan. His siblings include brothers Arbaaz and Sohail Khan and sisters Alvira Khan and Arpita Khan Sharma.
Alvira is married to actor and producer Atul Agnihotri, while Arpita is married to Aayush Sharma.

On the professional front, Salman is set to appear in Maatrubhumi: May War Rest in Peace, directed by Apoorva Lakhia and co-starring Chitrangada Singh.
The film, earlier titled Battle of Galwan, is inspired by the 2020 Galwan Valley clash. Its release date has not yet been announced.
Salman is also working on the yet-to-be-titled SVC63, directed by Vamshi Paidipally, with Nayanthara and Anil Kapoor also part of the cast.
