Six Federal Constabulary (FC) personnel embraced martyrdom while bravely defending their post in Hassan Khel, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, after what security sources described as a failed attack by Fitna-ul-Khawarij militants.
The security forces successfully repelled the assault, preventing what officials called a major act of destruction in the area. Eight militants were also killed during the retaliatory operation.
According to security sources, militants launched a “cowardly attack” on a Federal Constabulary post in the Hassan Khel area.
FC personnel responded immediately and fought bravely against the attackers. During the intense exchange of fire, six personnel sacrificed their lives while successfully foiling the attack.
Security sources said the retaliatory action by security forces resulted in the killing of eight Khawarij militants.

The personnel who embraced martyrdom include Naik Aamir, Lance Naik Muhammad Yousuf, Lance Naik Muhammad Riaz, Sepoy Ajmeer, Sepoy Ehsan and Sepoy Riaz.
Officials paid tribute to the courage and sacrifice of the martyrs, describing them as brave sons of the nation who laid down their lives in the line of duty.
Funeral prayers for the martyred personnel were offered at the Federal Constabulary headquarters in Peshawar.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry and senior police officers attended the funeral prayers. The Federal Constabulary inspector general also briefed Interior Minister Naqvi on the details of the incident.
Naqvi pays tribute to martyrs
Speaking on the occasion, Mohsin Naqvi expressed deep sorrow and solidarity with the families of the martyrs. He offered condolences to the bereaved families, appreciated their courage and resilience, and assured them that the government would stand by them.
“The sacrifices of the martyrs will not go in vain,” Naqvi said, adding that the nation would always remember the great sacrifices made by its brave sons.
He further stated that he shared the grief of the martyrs’ families and would not leave them alone during this difficult time.
Nation united against terrorism
Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry said the entire nation stands united against terrorism. He stressed that operations against elements threatening peace and security would be made more effective and reiterated the government’s resolve to eliminate terrorism.
According to security sources, Pakistan has consistently urged the Afghan interim government to prevent Afghan territory from being used for attacks against Pakistan.
Sources said the Hassan Khel attack is further evidence that safe havens of Fitna-ul-Khawarij and other terrorist organisations exist inside Afghanistan.
