Cricket Australia has announced its squad for the ODI series against Pakistan, with Mitchell Marsh set to lead the side in the three-match series starting May 30.
Australia also named squads for the white-ball tour of Bangladesh, with several new and returning players included across formats.
Mitchell Marsh, who is currently playing in the IPL, will captain Australia in the ODI series against Pakistan. Senior fast bowlers Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc and Josh Hazlewood have not been included in any of the squads.
Fast bowlers Billy Stanlake and Riley Meredith have returned to the ODI setup.
Pakistan ODI schedule confirmed
The first ODI between Pakistan and Australia will be played on May 30. The second ODI is scheduled for June 2, while the third match will take place on June 4.
New faces earn Australia call-ups
Ollie Peake, Liam Scott and Joel Davies have earned maiden Australia call-ups. Peake has been included only for the Pakistan ODIs, while Scott is part of both the Pakistan and Bangladesh ODI squads.
Davies has been named only in Australia’s T20I squad for Bangladesh.
The selectors rewarded Peake, Scott and Davies for strong domestic performances. Scott was named Sheffield Shield Player of the Year for 2025/26, while Davies was the Most Valuable Player in the 2025/26 Big Bash League.
Peake captained Australia at the 2026 U19 World Cup and has also progressed to the Australia A team.
IPL players to join for Bangladesh ODIs
Travis Head, Cooper Connolly, Ben Dwarshuis and Xavier Bartlett are currently part of the IPL and expected to feature in the playoffs. They will replace Peake, Stanlake, Meredith and Matt Short when Australia’s ODI campaign moves from Pakistan to Bangladesh.
The changes come with Australia keeping an eye on next year’s ODI World Cup.
Glenn Maxwell, who has retired from ODIs, has not been selected for the T20I squad against Bangladesh. His absence is notable as Australia builds fresh combinations for the subcontinent tours.
Chair of selectors George Bailey said it was exciting to give new players a chance at international level. “The blend of experienced players coupled with new or returning players will provide a nice mix for these subcontinent tours,” Bailey said.
