India has been the worst affected by rising tensions between the United States and Iran.
According to estimates by the United Nations, a further 2.5 million people in India may fall below the poverty line as a result of the conflict.
A report by Al Jazeera said that food and energy prices in India have doubled. Factories are closing due to gas shortages, while inflation continues to rise.
Employees in several companies have taken to the streets in protest. Should the blockade persist, millions more in India may be affected.
