LAHORE : Pakistan is rapidly emerging as a key economic corridor linking South Asia, Central Asia, and the Middle East, with CPEC transforming it into a regional trade and transit hub, said former SAARC CCI president Iftikhar Ali Malik. He noted that Pakistan’s strategic location, modernized infrastructure, and expanding transport and energy networks now offer direct access to nearly three billion consumers. Malik emphasized that sustained reforms, stable policies, and efficient systems are essential to strengthen competitiveness, while the second phase of CPEC—centered on industrial cooperation, SEZs, agriculture, and technology transfer—will further deepen regional connectivity. With developments like Gwadar Port and enhanced road networks, Pakistan is positioned to serve as a vital gateway for Central Asia and expand trade ties with Gulf nations, supported by a committed business community advocating regional cooperation and sustainable growth.
