A major convenience may soon be coming to WhatsApp users, as the messaging platform begins testing native support for multiple accounts on a single phone. Early iOS beta testers have spotted a new “Switch Accounts” option, something users have waited years to see.
The latest WhatsApp beta for iOS (version 25.19.20.74) has revealed support for quickly switching between different accounts directly within the app. Testers report that a new setting called “Switch Accounts” displays all linked profiles, allowing users to move between them without logging in and out.
While the feature sounds basic, WhatsApp has never offered a smooth, built-in way for mobile users to manage multiple profiles. Until now, the only workaround was using WhatsApp Business alongside the regular app — an option that didn’t suit everyone.
Feature still in early testing
Only some iPhone beta testers currently have access to this feature. Its limited reach suggests that Meta is still in the early stages of development, and a public rollout could take time.
So far, the feature has only been spotted on iOS. However, WhatsApp’s Android support has historically been consistent and timely, making it likely that an Android rollout will follow once the testing matures.

Meta, WhatsApp’s parent company, has not yet commented on the update.
Why multiple account support matters
Using separate WhatsApp accounts is fairly common for many users. Two people may share a phone, or individuals may want different customizations or settings for various social circles.
Some prefer to keep their college group chats separate from work or sports communities. Others simply want cleaner organization without mixing conversations.
Until this beta discovery, switching accounts required repeatedly logging out or relying on WhatsApp Business — the only convenient method available.
The new “Switch Accounts” feature appears to offer a seamless alternative, suggesting that everyday users may soon enjoy the flexibility previously limited to business profiles.
