Acclaimed Pakistani actress Saba Qamar has revealed that extreme mental stress recently triggered heart pain, leading her to undergo an angiography.
The Case No. 9 star opened up about the terrifying experience during her appearance on a podcast.
The Pani Jaisa Pyaar actress shared that she had always believed she was strong enough to handle everything life threw at her. However, she later realized that “pain and emotions we suppress eventually show up physically — sometimes as pain attacks, anxiety, or even heart problems.”
Saba candidly disclosed that she recently suffered a mild heart attack, followed by an angiography the next day. “I’m feeling much better now,” she assured fans.
Emotional stress can be physically damaging
Reflecting on her journey, Saba said she used to hear about anxiety and panic attacks from others but never fully understood them until she experienced them herself. “It’s painful and indescribable,” she said.
According to the 41-year-old actress, doctors listed nearly 20 possible reasons why young people can face heart-related issues — not all linked to cholesterol. “When we hold on to pain and stress for too long, it starts affecting different parts of the body,” she explained.
Saba shared that she decided to speak about her health experience to encourage others not to ignore even minor health symptoms. “In the past, when I tried to talk about my mental state, people dismissed it by saying I had everything — fame and money — so how could I be unhappy?” she recalled.
She emphasized that mental health problems can affect anyone, regardless of success or wealth. “Mental health issues have nothing to do with fame or fortune,” Saba concluded.
