Zimbabwe secured their place in the 2026 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup after defeating Kenya by seven wickets in the second semi-final of the Africa Region Final at Harare Sports Club on Thursday.
Kenya, winning the toss, elected to bat first and posted 122 runs for six wickets in their allotted 20 overs. Rakep Patel was the top scorer with 65 runs from 47 balls. Zimbabwe’s bowling attack was led by Blessing Muzarabani, who took two wickets for 19 runs.
Chasing 123 for victory, Zimbabwe reached their target in 15 overs with three wickets down. Brian Bennett top-scored with 51 runs from 25 balls, earning the player of the match award. Tadiwanashe Marumani contributed 39 runs, while Ryan Burl remained unbeaten on 16.
Zimbabwe’s victory came with 30 balls to spare, demonstrating a strong batting performance and disciplined bowling to restrict Kenya’s total.
