The birth anniversary of the Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad Mustafa (PBUH) is being celebrated across Pakistan with great religious fervor, devotion, and joy.
Federal and provincial governments have declared a public holiday, while streets, mosques, and homes are adorned with lights, flags, and decorations.
Cities across Pakistan are decorated with vibrant green flags, electric lanterns, and illuminated government and private buildings. Mihrabs and decorative gates have been set up in marketplaces and on major highways to mark the blessed day.

Mosques, too, are glowing with electric lanterns, where gatherings of blessings, prayers, and Naat Khawani are being organized. Arrangements for distributing Niaz have been made in several neighborhoods, reflecting the spirit of unity and devotion.

Law enforcement agencies, including police, have implemented foolproof security measures to ensure peaceful celebrations on 12 Rabi-ul-Awwal. Public participation in processions, prayers, and charity distribution is being facilitated under strict safety protocols.
PM Shehbaz’s message
In his message on the occasion, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif said that the blessed birth of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) 1500 years ago in Makkah turned “darkness into light” by showing humanity the paths of justice, mercy, equality, and unity.
This year has been declared as the Year of Mercy for All Worlds (PBUH), following resolutions passed in both the National Assembly and Senate. The Prime Minister highlighted that this decision reflects the nation’s commitment to aligning its constitution, laws, and collective life with the teachings of the Holy Prophet (PBUH).
Shehbaz Sharif emphasized that the life of Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) serves as a complete guide for governance, politics, justice, trade, and social values. Citing the Quranic verse, he said: “In the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) you have the best model, for everyone who hopes in Allah and the Last Day.”
The Prime Minister noted that in today’s rapidly changing world, with technology bringing societies closer, it is vital to enlighten the younger generation with the Seerat of the Prophet (PBUH). He stressed that words and language should be used for goodness and peace, encouraging youth to embrace timeless principles of morality, love, and brotherhood.
Call for unity and reform
Shehbaz Sharif urged the nation to transform Pakistan into a practical embodiment of the Prophet’s teachings by rejecting prejudice, sectarianism, extremism, and hatred. He said solutions to Pakistan’s economic and social challenges lie in adopting the Seerat as a foundation of national character.
Reaffirming his commitment, he said: “Let us all renew our pledge today that we are determined to build Pakistan on the golden principles of Seerat-un-Nabi (PBUH). Our policies should focus on equality, poverty eradication, and the promotion of knowledge and research so that Pakistan can truly become an Islamic welfare state.”
