Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has issued a warning that water levels at Baloki will rise within the next 18 hours as floodwaters continue to move downstream in River Ravi.
According to PDMA Director General Irfan Ali Kathia, the rising water will affect areas of Sheikhupura, Nankana Sahib, and Sahiwal. He said the flood surge will reach Sadhrai in about 20 hours.
The PDMA chief added that India is continuously releasing water from Thien Dam and Madhopur, which has worsened the flood situation. “A major flood surge has already passed through Ravi and is now moving towards Baloki,” he stated.
