Five police officers martyred, two injured in dacoit attack on Sheikhani check post in Rahim Yar Khan
Armed dacoits attacked the Sheikhani police check post in Rahim Yar Khan, martyring five police officers and injuring two others.
According to police, the assault was carried out by members of the Indhar and Bukhirani gangs. The attackers used rocket launchers and hand grenades during the assault. At the time of the incident, seven officers were on duty at the post.
The bodies of the martyred officers have been shifted to Sheikh Zayed Hospital. Police said three of the martyrs were from Bahawalnagar and two from Rahim Yar Khan. The martyred officers were identified as Irfan, Saleem, Khalil, Ghazanfar, and Nakhil.
A search operation has been launched in the area to track down the attackers.
