Pakistan has strongly rejected the Israeli parliament’s recent claim of sovereignty over the occupied West Bank, calling it an illegal and provocative move.
In a statement issued Wednesday, the Foreign Office said the Israeli action is a blatant violation of international law and a serious infringement of Palestinian rights.
“The Israeli parliament’s illegal claim over the occupied West Bank is condemnable,” the spokesperson said. “It represents a continuous violation of international norms and the fundamental rights of the Palestinian people.”
The statement warned that such unilateral and inflammatory steps undermine regional peace efforts and are part of a systematic strategy to entrench illegal occupation.
Pakistan reaffirmed that it does not recognize any unilateral Israeli actions aimed at altering the internationally accepted status of Palestinian territory. The Foreign Office reiterated Pakistan’s principled support for a two-state solution based on pre-1967 borders, with Al-Quds Al-Sharif (Jerusalem) as the capital of an independent and sovereign Palestinian state.
The spokesperson urged the international community to hold Israel accountable and ensure the implementation of relevant United Nations resolutions.
