Pakistan and China have agreed to hold the 14th Joint Coordination Committee (JCC) meeting on CPEC in July 2025, with preparatory working group meetings scheduled for March and April. Federal Minister for Planning Ahsan Iqbal, while chairing a high-level review meeting, expressed concerns over delays in Gwadar’s power connectivity and desalination plant operations, directing immediate remedial actions. He also urged swift distribution of Chinese-aided agricultural and water supply equipment. Additionally, he instructed diplomatic engagement with China for the ML-1 railway project and assigned the Ministry of IT to lead discussions on the New and Emerging Technologies (NET) framework agreement.
