Punjab Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has issued a flood alert for the province’s eastern rivers amid rising water levels and the risk of flooding from July 21. The China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC) has completed excavation of the Dogah Tunnel, the fifth of seven tunnels in Phase 1 of the Karakoram Highway (KKH) relocation project. The 1,242-meter tunnel is part of efforts to reroute a 46-kilometre stretch of the highway that will be submerged by the under-construction Dasu Dam in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
