Security forces killed five terrorists during a successful intelligence-based operation in the Bara area of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, according to security sources.
A large quantity of weapons and ammunition was also recovered from the slain terrorists.
The operation was conducted as part of ongoing counterterrorism efforts under Operation Azm-e-Istehkam, with security forces continuing intelligence-based actions against militants in the province.
According to security sources, security forces launched an intelligence-based operation in the Bara area after receiving information about the presence of terrorists.
During an intense exchange of fire, five terrorists were eliminated. Security personnel also recovered a large quantity of weapons and ammunition from the killed militants.
The security forces subsequently destroyed the terrorist hideouts in the area, the sources said.
The latest operation is part of continued efforts by security forces in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa under the vision of Operation Azm-e-Istehkam. Security forces said they remain committed to completely eliminating the scourge of terrorism from the country and establishing lasting peace.
Naqvi commends security forces
Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi praised security personnel for successful operations against terrorists in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan.
Naqvi specifically commended the elimination of five terrorists in Bara and two others in Chagai, saying the security forces had thwarted the “nefarious designs” of the militants. He said the successful operations against the terrorists and their facilitators were commendable and praised the capabilities demonstrated by the security personnel.
“The brave sons of the security forces are our pride, and the nation takes great pride in them,” Naqvi said.
The minister expressed confidence that, with the support of the nation, terrorists would be completely eliminated.
“God willing, and with the nation’s support, the Kharijites will be completely eliminated,” he said.
